The Last Stand
Home

History: In the 1920's, Fred Rabbitt opened "Rabbitt's" located kitty-corner from our current location. Rabbitt's,a gas station/pub, was a place where one could fill their tank with gas and belly with beer. Beer like gasoline, is a life giving fuel for many! Eventually, Rabbitt's was forced out to make way for the Shell Oil Expansion. In July 1961, the business relocated to the current spot. Then owned by Charlie Carrol, Don Carney-"Carroll and Carney's", Harvey Gonter, Tome and Louise Johnson- "Porky's", and the Culp Family-"Culp's Bar& Grill". Jim Hofhenke took over ownership in 2000 and Culp's BAr & Grill became "The last Stand Bar & Grill". In 2008 Tony and Sandy Hobbs became the proud owners of the historical site opting to keep the ever-so-fitting name "The Last Stand"!
